This type of license is provided as a single user license for evaluation purposes only. The Trial License version of software is bound to an individual computer and cannot be moved to another computer. A Trial License is provided for a limited period of time only.

This type of license is provided as a single-user license bound to an individual computer. The Node-Locked Workstation License version of software can be moved from one computer to another if necessary. The moving of a node-locked workstation license can only be done a limited number of times. If this limit is exceeded, an upgrade to a Floating Network License will be necessary.

This type of license has the Network License Server hosted on a local area network (LAN) environment that manages the Floating Network License. The computer on which the Network License Server is installed can be any kind of computer (i.e., workstation or server), but must be assigned a static IP address for the CivilGEO software application to find the Network License Server.
The Floating Network License version of software can be used by multiple users as long as they are connected to the network on which the Network License Server is running.
The Floating Network License can be accessed over a WAN (Wide Area Network) containing multiple subnets. The network firewall settings may need to be adjusted to allow port communication with the Network License Server.
The Floating Network License version of software also allows the user to check-out a license from the network license pool to use with any computer independent of the Network License Server. This allows the user to operate the software on a laptop at home over the weekend, on-site, etc.

This type of license is provided for evaluation purposes only. A Trial Cloud License is provided for a limited period of time.
This type of license utilizes a Network License Server hosted in the cloud that manage pools of licenses. The Cloud License version of software can be used by multiple users wherever they are located, as long as they have access to the Internet.
The Cloud License also allows the user to check-out a license from the network license pool to use without access to the Internet. This allows the user to operate the software while traveling when Internet access may be intermittent or unreliable.

All versions of the software license give you access to the CivilGEO Customer Portal, which is an easy-to-use, web-based portal that gives you complete access to your account information and the ability to view Entitlements, Activation IDs, download the latest version, and view product usage.
Click here to access the CivilGEO Customer Portal through your Internet browser.
There are three key steps in the CivilGEO licensing process:
The Entitlement Certificate represents proof of a software license that includes a description of the product, the Activation ID, and the license duration. The Entitlement Certificate is always provided in the form of an email and should be kept secure.
This certificate authorizes you to activate the software product(s) you have purchased from CivilGEO. Rights and restrictions on the use of these product(s) are set forth in the CivilGEO License Agreement.
The latest release of the software can be downloaded either from the CivilGEO Customer Portal or from the already installed software’s Check for Updates section.
Click here in CivilGEO’s Knowledge Base to read how to download the latest software release.
The Activation ID will be required to activate the Node-Locked Workstation and Floating Network License software products. The Cloud Server ID will be used to activate the Cloud License software products.
The Activation ID and the Cloud Server ID are transmitted via email. In the event the email containing the Activation ID or Cloud Server ID is misplaced, the IDs can be retrieved by logging into the CivilGEO Customer Portal.
Refer to this article in our Knowledge Base to read how to retrieve the Cloud Server ID through the CivilGEO Customer Portal.
